The Standards Club of Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Government College, Palampur, in collaboration with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), organised a poster-making competition on the theme “Fostering a Sustainable World” on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Held under the guidance of Prof. Manisha Sharma, the event featured Mr. Karamveer Singh from BIS as the resource person, who interacted with students and emphasised the importance of standardization in promoting sustainable practices.
College Principal Prof. Pankaj Sood lauded the students’ creativity and encouraged them to use artistic expression as a tool for environmental advocacy.
“Such initiatives empower youth to become ambassadors of sustainable living,” he said.
A total of 25 students participated in the competition, showcasing posters that reflected innovative ideas and strong messages on eco-conscious lifestyles.
The entries were judged by a panel comprising Dr. Ajay Thakur and Dr. Anupama Dogra, who praised the originality and relevance of the artworks.
The event was graced by faculty members including Prof. Kalpana Rishi, Dr. Anita, Dr. Bovinder Katoch, Dr. Anuradha, Dr. Meenakshi Thakur, Prof. Vipin, Prof. Aditya Ojha, along with club members Dr. Kamlesh Rana and Prof. Atul, who commended the students’ efforts and engagement.
The competition not only celebrated creativity but also reinforced the role of youth in shaping a sustainable future.
