Former Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly and BJP Vice President Vipin Singh Parmar expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for announcing a ₹1,500 crore special relief package for disaster-hit Himachal Pradesh.
Parmar said the Prime Minister’s visit to flood-affected regions and his personal interaction with grieving families was a clear message: Himachal is not just a state—it is his family.
He recalled a deeply emotional moment when PM Modi embraced a young girl who had lost her entire family in the disaster. “That image touched every Himachali heart,” Parmar said, adding that the Prime Minister’s compassion goes beyond policy—it’s personal.
PM Modi also announced ₹2 lakh ex-gratia for families who lost loved ones and ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh for those seriously injured. Parmar emphasized that these gestures reflect the Prime Minister’s emotional bond with the people of Himachal.
Taking aim at the Congress-led state government, Parmar accused it of mismanaging central funds and diverting relief money toward salaries and non-essential expenses. “While the Centre continues to support Himachal generously, the state government fails to utilize it effectively,” he said.
He further noted that no previous Congress government had extended such generous aid during disasters. “Modi ji has repeatedly shown that Himachal’s pain is his own pain,” Parmar stated.
He concluded by affirming that BJP workers will ensure the Prime Minister’s support reaches every citizen and that relief and rehabilitation efforts proceed with full transparency. “The people of Himachal will never forget this gesture in their hour of need,” he said.
