Continuing its intensified campaign against drug trafficking, the Damtal Police Station team under the Nurpur Police District has achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting a youth and recovering a substantial quantity of narcotics.

Acting on specific secret information, the police conducted a raid at a store in Damtal and arrested Sahil alias Mintu (24), a resident of Ward No. 7, VPO Damtal. During the search operation, the police recovered 35.73 grams of chitta (heroin) from his possession.

Following the recovery, a case has been registered against the accused under FIR No. 33/26 dated 09.02.2026, under Section 21 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Damtal. The accused has been taken into custody, and further legal proceedings are underway.

The police stated that strict action will continue against those involved in drug trafficking and warned that no one indulging in such illegal activities will be spared.

Meanwhile, the district police have appealed to the general public to actively cooperate in the anti-drug drive and urged citizens to immediately share any information related to drug trafficking with the police, emphasizing that public support is crucial to making society drug-free.
