The Himachal Pradesh government, a/c to Reference: CBA-TSM-5(378) 2008-111-840 to 841 , has officially notified the Himachal Pradesh Homestay Rules 2025, making it mandatory for all homestay units across the state to register under the new guidelines.
Homestays currently operating under the Himachal Pradesh Homestay Scheme 2008 or the Incredible India Bed & Breakfast Scheme of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, are also required to re-register under the 2025 rules within 30 days.
All homestay owners are urged to promptly register their units—including those under the Incredible India Bed & Breakfast program—at the District Tourism Development Office, Chamba. Failure to comply will result in action under the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development and Registration Act, 2002.
