Lecture on ‘Legal Provisions under Road Safety’ Organised at Government Arya College, Nurpur

A special lecture on “Legal Provisions under Road Safety” was organized today at Government Arya College, Nurpur under the guidance of Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur. The event was conducted by the Road Safety Club, coordinated by Dr. Diljit Singh along with members Prof. Manjit Singh, Prof. Surjit Kumar, Prof. Surjit Singh, and Dr. Bharti Bhagsen.

Advocate Vishwadeep Singh from Nurpur Court was the keynote speaker. Welcoming the gathering, Prof. Surjit Singh introduced the programme and outlined its objectives.

In his address, Advocate Singh provided detailed insights into the legal aspects of road safety. He emphasized the importance of carrying valid documents such as a driving license, vehicle registration, pollution certificate, and insurance while driving. He cautioned that operating a vehicle without valid papers is a punishable offense, attracting heavy fines and even imprisonment. He further highlighted that the minimum age requirement for obtaining a driving license is 18 years, stressing the need for young people to be well-informed about traffic rules and safety regulations.

Dr. Diljit Singh also addressed the students, underlining the necessity of being aware of road safety laws to ensure responsible driving.

Around 150 students attended the programme, which also featured an interactive session where participants raised queries and received clarifications. The event concluded with Prof. Manjit Singh extending a vote of thanks to the chief guest, faculty members, and students.
