Kangra DC Hemraj Bairwa inaugurates Dharamshala Him Ira Store, features products by self-help groups

Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa on Monday (February 17, 2025) morning officially inaugurated Him Ira Store in Dharamshala.
The store, established by the District Council, features products made by self-help groups consisting of rural men and women. These groups create locally made items, providing an opportunity to showcase their products to the people of Himachal Pradesh.

The store holds significance for the rural community as it allows self-help groups to market their products, supporting local livelihoods and contributing to the rural economy.
After the opening, Hemraj Bairwa interacted with the store staff and made the first purchase, marking the symbolic start. He also completed the inaugural transaction online.

Speaking to the media, he noted, “Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is focusing on strengthening the rural economy and increasing credit mobilisation. Since 90 per cent of Himachal Pradesh’s population lives in villages, steps for their development, such as this Him Ira Store, are important.
