SHIMLA: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda on Saturday laid the foundation stone of the party’s Himachal Pradesh state office at Majthai, near DAV School on the Jubbarhatti Airport road, marking what party leaders described as a new chapter in the organisation’s political journey in the state.
Nadda received a rousing welcome from party workers on his arrival and took part in a 45-minute foundation-laying ceremony conducted with full Vedic rituals. The ceremony, during which priests chanted Vedic mantras, added a solemn note to the occasion as the foundation stone was formally unveiled.

During a site inspection, BJP state president Dr Rajeev Bindal briefed the national president on the proposed design and layout of the new office. Nadda discussed the structure’s functional aspects and future requirements, offering suggestions to ensure that the building serves as an effective organisational hub for the party in the years ahead.
After installing the ceremonial kalash, Nadda interacted informally with party workers over tea, discussing organisational strengthening and preparations for upcoming political programmes. Leaders said the new office would play a key role in energising the party cadre and improving coordination across the state.
The event was attended by BJP state in-charge Shrikant Sharma, co-incharge Sanjay Tandon, Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, former Union minister Anurag Thakur, organisation general secretary Siddharthan, state vice-presidents Bihari Lal Sharma, Satpal Satti, Suresh Kashyap and Rajeev Bhardwaj, besides a large number of party workers.
Party leaders said the foundation-laying ceremony, marked by enthusiasm and organisational resolve, underlined the BJP’s intent to strengthen its base in Himachal Pradesh, with the new state office expected to lend fresh momentum to its political and organisational activities.
