Rotary Club Chhoti Kashi promotes youth leadership and service

Rotary Club Chhoti Kashi Mandi has formally constituted an Interact Club at Takshashila International School, Mandi, with the objective of nurturing leadership qualities, social responsibility and a spirit of service among students. A total of 77 students were inducted as members of the newly formed Interact Club.
During the ceremony, the club’s executive body was elected unanimously. Hazel Sachdeva was chosen as president, Manraj Singh as vice-president, Sneha as secretary and Sumit Thakur as treasurer. Devarsh Sharma, Gopika, Arnav Shukla, Prakul Vaidya and Shivansh Agnihotri were appointed as board members, while Nishant Sharma was named faculty adviser.

Addressing the gathering, Rotary Club Chhoti Kashi Mandi president-elect Akhilesh Bharti highlighted the global importance of Interact Clubs. He said that Interact Club is one of Rotary International’s most impactful youth programmes, operating in thousands of schools across the world. Through community service, environmental initiatives and leadership projects, Interact Clubs help students grow into responsible global citizens.
Former club president Anupama Singh said that Interact Club provides students with an excellent platform to develop confidence, teamwork and ethical values at a young age. She added that such clubs play a crucial role in shaping socially aware and proactive individuals.
Newly elected Interact Club president Hazel Sachdeva expressed gratitude to the school authorities, Rotary members and fellow students for entrusting her with the responsibility. She assured that the club would work with dedication and actively participate in social service, environmental protection and student-led initiatives.
Secretary Sneha stated that the Interact Club would focus on discipline, teamwork and impactful activities that contribute positively to society and help students grow as leaders.
Vice-president Manraj Singh linked the values of Interact with the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev and Guru Tegh Bahadur, emphasising service, sacrifice and humanity as the foundation of a strong and compassionate society.
Rotary Club Chhoti Kashi president Hemlata lauded the formation of the Interact Club and said that such initiatives empower students to become thoughtful leaders and responsible citizens of tomorrow.
In her concluding address, school Principal Shailja Kashyap welcomed the Rotary members and appreciated their efforts in forming the Interact Club, stating that it would provide students with valuable exposure to leadership and community service.
Rotary Club Chhoti Kashi Interact Secretary Renu Gulati, along with Anuradha Sood and Suman Sharma, were also present on the occasion.
