The Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association convened its annual meeting yesterday evening at the TSO Hall. The session reviewed the successful organisation of the recently concluded International Himalayan Festival and discussed the association’s future activities in detail.
New Executive Committee Formed
Following the meeting, members deliberated on the formation of a new executive committee. By unanimous consensus, the following office bearers were elected:
- Mr. Ajit Nahariya – President
- Mr. Dinesh Kapoor – Vice President
- Mr. Nirmal Kumar – General Secretary
In addition, Tibetan Settlement Officer Mr. Kunzhuk will continue as Vice President, while Mr. Namgyal will remain in his role as Office Secretary. This committee has been constituted for a three-year term. The remaining positions will be finalized after consultations with members and advisors in the next meeting.
Voices of Experience
Former President Mr. Ramswaroop Sharma highlighted the association’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Tibetan community. Meanwhile, Mr. Subhash Nahariya shed light on several important issues related to Tibet.
Commitment to the Future
Newly elected President Mr. Ajit Nahariya and Vice President Mr. Dinesh Kapoor issued a joint statement affirming that the Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association will continue to play a leading role in supporting the Tibetan community. They emphasized that whether it involves Tibetan language, culture, or community upliftment, the organization remains fully dedicated to its mission.

The meeting was attended by several dignitaries and community representatives, including Mr. Omkar Nahariya, Mr. Ramswaroop Sharma, Mr. Subhash Nahariya, Tibetan Welfare Officer Mr. Kunzhuk, Youngzom, Mr. Purushottam Nahariya, Mr. Vikas Nahariya, Mr. Shamsher, Mr. Raspal Pathania, Mr. Ashok Pathania, Mr. Suresh Sharma, Mr. Narendra Pathania, Mr. Kuldeep Nahariya, Mr. Madanlal, Ms. Rama Thapa, Mr. Nirmal Kumar, Mr. Akash Nahariya, Mr. Nilesh Saini, Mr. Kul Prakash Sharma, Mr. Sanjeev Nahariya, Mr. Ashok Sharma, Mr. Michael, along with respected members of the Tibetan community.
