Shimla:
Former BJP state president and Member of Parliament Suresh Kashyap participated in a Padyatra held in Jubbal Kotkhai, Chela, and Theog to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Addressing the gathering, Kashyap said that “India today stands before the world as a flourishing, developing, and strong nation.” He recalled Patel’s decisive role in uniting over 550 princely states after independence, which laid the foundation of modern India. Patel’s efforts ensured the integration of regions like Lakshadweep, Junagadh, Hyderabad, and others into the Indian Union. Kashyap noted that Patel was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1991, 41 years after his death in 1950.
Vision for a Developed India by 2047
Kashyap emphasized that the people of India are united in fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision of making India a fully developed nation by 2047. He said that by then, India will stand as a global leader across all parameters, with Prime Minister Modi carrying forward Patel’s vision and message in every sector.
Highlighting India’s demographic strength, Kashyap pointed out that 65% of the population is under 35 years of age, making this a historic moment for national progress. He praised the government’s initiative “MY Bharat” (Mera Yuva Bharat), launched on October 31, 2023 on Patel’s birth anniversary and National Unity Day.
