The Himachal Pradesh School Education Board has gone into mission mode to ensure transparency and error-free conduct of the March 2026 examinations. Board Chairman Dr. Rajesh Sharma has made it clear that the sanctity of exams will not be compromised, with special focus on the +2 State Open School (SOS) regular and direct science papers.

Recognizing the sensitivity of the paper distribution process, the Board has issued a high alert and directed center superintendents to strictly follow guidelines. Dr. Sharma emphasized that rules must be implemented to the letter to avoid any technical or administrative lapses.

OMR Sheets Decide the Future

The biggest change this year concerns multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The Board has warned that answers will be accepted only on the OMR sheet. Any response marked in the main answer booklet or elsewhere will be awarded zero marks, with responsibility resting solely on the candidate. Examination staff have been instructed to clearly brief students about this rule before the paper begins.

Transparency Boost: Answer Keys in 48 Hours

In a move to enhance credibility, the Board will upload official answer keys within 48 hours of each exam on its website. This initiative aims to give students immediate clarity on their performance and strengthen trust in the evaluation process.

Golden Tips for Students

Students are advised to remain calm while filling OMR sheets and avoid marking answers in the main booklet. Any confusion should be clarified with invigilators before the exam starts, as last-minute mistakes could cost valuable marks.

Strict Command to Staff

The Board has also warned center superintendents that negligence in handling SOS science paper packets or distribution will invite disciplinary action. The responsibility for smooth conduct lies equally with staff and students.
