Dharamshala — In a major administrative overhaul, the Himachal Pradesh government has abolished 327 posts within HIMUDA (Himachal Urban Development Authority) while simultaneously creating a new position of Advisor. The move has sparked widespread anger and disappointment among employees and unemployed youth.
Adding to the controversy, the government has decided to shift HIMUDA’s divisional office from Nahan to Ghumarwin. Opposition leaders have accused the government of making politically motivated decisions.
Former Speaker and sitting MLA Vipin Singh Parmar condemned the move as anti-people and anti-youth. “At a time when the youth of the state need new job opportunities, the Congress government is eliminating hundreds of posts,” Parmar said. He alleged that the newly created Advisor post is merely a way to accommodate political favourites, while sidelining the unemployed.
Parmar further criticized the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led government for prioritizing political placements and institutional reshuffling over genuine development. He asserted that the BJP will strongly oppose the decision and raise the concerns of affected employees and job seekers.
