Himachal’s Third Battalion Pandoh marks 18th establishment day with grand celebrations; Commandant leads parade inspection

Mandi: A vibrant display of police personnel parading and engaging in colorful cultural performances was held to mark the 18th establishment day of the Third Battalion Pandoh. The festivities also included a commendable blood donation drive.WhatsApp Image 2024 02 11 at 17.24.00

Commandant Bhagat Singh Thakur and his wife Shushil Bhagat Thakur officiated as the chief guests. Deputy Commandant Surendra Sharma presented mementos to the distinguished guests, followed by Commandant Thakur inspecting the parade and acknowledging the grand salute.

Although DGP Sanjay Kundu of Himachal Pradesh Police was unable to attend, his commendations were conveyed through a message, praising the battalion’s progress and foreseeing greater accomplishments in the future.

Commandant Thakur congratulated all, highlighting the battalion’s evolution since its inception in 1987, eventually attaining the status of the Third Reserve Battalion in 2005.

Currently, with 985 dedicated personnel, the battalion ensures security across various state projects, residences of CMs, and other significant locations. Commandant Thakur expressed gratitude to DGP Sanjay Kundu for his unwavering support and pledged to propel the battalion to greater heights.

Deputy Commandant Sharma outlined the battalion’s past endeavours and future initiatives, commending Commandant Singh Thakur for his transformative leadership. Noteworthy progress on projects totaling Rs 16.84 crores was highlighted, with numerous proposed ventures awaiting approval.

Emphasizing employee welfare, special efforts are directed towards their upliftment and holistic development.
The ceremony was attended by ASP Mandi Sagar Chandra, ASP Cyber Crime Manmohan Sharma, alongside other police personnel and their families.

Outstanding employees were recognized for their exemplary contributions, while the event was embellished with vibrant cultural performances. Furthermore, the battalion’s altruism was showcased through a blood donation camp, where approximately 50 employees donated blood.
