Himachal weather update: Met dept issues yellow alert for cold wave in isolated pockets today

SHIMLA: The Shimla Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow alert for cold wave at isolated pockets and ground frost at a few places across Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday (February 7, 2024). Cold wave was also observed in Palampur, Una and Kangra over the past 24 hours.

Also, Kukumseri in tribal Lahaul-Spiti district was the coldest in Himachal at -12.1°C while Una recorded the maximum temperature at 20°C.

“No large change in minimum temperatures was witnessed during the last 24 hours and average minimum temperatures were below normal. No large change either was seen in maximum temperatures and average maximum temperatures were appreciably below normal,” the Meteorological Centre said in its morning weather bulletin.

Bhabanagar in Kinnaur district experience 0.6 mm of rain and Palampur 0.2 mm. Sangla in Kinnaur received 0.3 cm rain while trace of snowfall was experienced in famous tourist destination Kufri.
The weather has been predicted to remain dry for the next six days from February 8 to 13. Following is the temperature recorded at various locations across the state at 8.30 am on Wednesday (February 7).
