The weather in Himachal Pradesh has started to change again as a fresh western disturbance is set to hit the state. According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of light rain and snowfall in the higher-altitude areas for the next five days.
Several parts of the state are expected to experience rain, with possibilities of hailstorms in some areas. The active western disturbance is likely to bring about this change in weather.
The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in some central and high-altitude areas on March 19, 21, 22, 23 and 24. Snowfall is likely in these areas during this period. The weather may remain bad at one or two high-altitude locations on Tuesday (March 19, 2024) as well. Meanwhile, the capital Shimla and its surrounding areas are experiencing sunny weather.

The minimum temperature recorded in Shimla is 8.6 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 8.4, Bhuntar 7.3, Kalpa 1.0, Dharamshala 11.7, Una 8.5, Nahan 13.3, Kufri 7.3, Kukumseri -1.9, Narkanda 5.1, Bharmaur 6.6, Reckongpeo 4.4, Seobagh 6.3 and Dehragopipur 13.0 degrees Celsius.
The change in weather is likely to affect travel and agricultural activities in the region. Locals and tourists have been advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and take necessary precautions.
