Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh Government’s recent decision to increase the upper age limit for government jobs by two years has been met with appreciation from the Himachal Pradesh Unemployed Youth Federation. The Federation’s State Convenor, Shrey Awasthi, expressed his gratitude, highlighting that this extension was among the Federation’s core demands, particularly benefiting candidates who had previously crossed the earlier age threshold.

Awasthi emphasized that the increase in the age limit would provide many aspiring candidates another opportunity to secure government jobs, thereby reducing concerns among unemployed youth. He noted that numerous individuals had faced limitations in applying for government positions due to the previous age restriction, and the new decision would alleviate their difficulties.

In his statement, Awasthi recalled a key meeting he had with the Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Shiv Charan Pratap Shukla. During the discussion, he raised the concern over the age limit and requested immediate government intervention. The Governor assured him that the matter would be forwarded for consideration, ultimately leading to this policy change.

The Himachal Pradesh Unemployed Youth Federation, under Awasthi’s leadership, has consistently advocated for the rights and opportunities of unemployed youth in the state. He affirmed that while this age limit revision marks a significant step forward, the Federation remains committed to pursuing additional demands. He also mentioned that he will soon be meeting the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh to discuss the remaining concerns and explore further improvements in employment policies.

Awasthi reiterated that the Federation’s objective is to ensure fair and accessible job opportunities for all unemployed candidates in the state. He expressed optimism that further constructive measures will be introduced to address employment challenges and facilitate government support for young aspirants.

The announcement of this age limit extension has sparked positive reactions from various sections of society, particularly among youth preparing for government job examinations. Many believe that this initiative reflects the state government’s willingness to address employment concerns and provide better access to job opportunities.

The Federation continues to encourage dialogue with government authorities to secure additional reforms that would benefit unemployed youth in Himachal Pradesh. As discussions advance, further developments regarding employment policies are expected in the coming weeks.
