Bilaspur: A case of gangrape has come to light in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh where a 16-year-old Class 12 student was allegedly sexually assaulted by her classmate and his three friends.
The victim, who had known one of the accused for three years, was lured under false pretenses and raped on two separate occasions
The accused also filmed the assault and blackmailed her. After gathering courage, the survivor confided in her mother, leading to the registration of a police complaint.
Accused repeated crime, recorded video
According to the FIR, the first assault occurred earlier, followed by a second incident in March when the accused took her to the same location and raped her again.
One of the attackers recorded the crime on his mobile phone and threatened her not to speak out. The victim initially remained silent out of fear but later revealed the ordeal to her family.
Four arrested, police probe underway
Based on the survivor’s complaint, the Bilaspur police have arrested all four accused, including her classmate and his friends.
A senior police official said further legal action was being taken and a case had been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act.
