The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to fill 6,297 posts of pre-primary teachers for recruitment in government schools across the state on outsource basis.

The recruitment process will be managed by Rajya Electronics Corporation, focusing on candidates holding a two-year Nursery Teacher Training (NTT) diploma. Education Secretary Rakesh Kanwar issued a directive to the Directorate of Elementary Education on Tuesday, initiating this significant move to enhance early childhood education.

The initiative targets the 60,000 students currently enrolled in the state’s 6,297 pre-primary schools. The newly recruited teachers will be designated as Early Childhood Care and Education Instructors. The decision follows a recent cabinet meeting where it was agreed to appoint these instructors to improve the quality of education for young children.

The recruitment process will adhere to the rules set by the central government and only candidates with NTT diplomas from registered institutes will be considered. This measure aligns with the newly launched Himachal Pradesh Early Childhood Care and Education Coaching Scheme, aimed at children aged three to six years.

The Directorate of Recruitment has been tasked with notifying the State Electronics Corporation of the existing vacancies in these schools. The corporation will then select companies to appoint the teachers through an outsourcing process.

The monthly honorarium for these teachers has been fixed at Rs 10,000, which includes agency charges, GST and other expenses.

Specifically, Rajya Electronics Corporation charges a 5 per cent agency fee and there is a 10 per cent deduction for the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

Additionally, GST on outsourced recruitment stands at 18 per cent. Consequently, teachers will receive approximately Rs 7,000 in hand each month.
