The Himachal Pradesh government is gearing up to rationalize the deployment of paramedical staff across its medical colleges. The move aims to address the shortage of paramedical personnel in certain medical colleges by transferring staff from institutions with a surplus.

The Health Department is currently preparing a formal proposal to execute this staff balancing act.
New Recruitment: Alongside the rationalization, the department is also drafting a separate proposal for new recruitments to further bolster the paramedical workforce.

This initiative is expected to ensure a more equitable distribution of essential healthcare staff and improve service delivery in all medical colleges across the state.

Panchayat Roster Issue Headed to Cabinet Meeting

The matter concerning the roster for Panchayati Raj Institutions in Himachal Pradesh is set to be discussed in the upcoming Cabinet meeting.

Prepared Proposal : The Panchayati Raj Department has finalized the draft and rules for the roster. The issue will be discussed in detail during the Cabinet meeting scheduled for November 24 at the State Secretariat in Shimla under the chairmanship of Cm Sukhvinder singh Sukhu.

Basis for Roster

The State Election Commission has suggested basing the roster on the 2011 Census.

Need for New Roster

The current scenario has led to several Gram Panchayats (Village Councils) having their seats continuously reserved for women. The government is considering implementing a new roster to address this disparity and ensure fairness in seat allocation and rotation.

The decision from the Cabinet meeting will be crucial in determining the process for the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections.
