Himachal Pradesh Director General of Police Ashok Tewari conducted a comprehensive security review at the Vidhan Sabha premises in Shimla on Friday (August 8, 2025) ahead of the upcoming session of the Assembly session.
DGP Ashok Tewari was accompanied by senior police officials, including the ADG (Law & Order), ADGP (CID), DIG (Southern Range) and the SSP, Shimla. The inspection was carried out in the presence of Yash Pal Sharma, Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha.
The visit was aimed at ensuring that robust and foolproof security arrangements are in place to facilitate the smooth and secure conduct of the forthcoming session. During the inspection, the team thoroughly assessed the premises, reviewed existing security protocols and held interactions with security personnel to evaluate preparedness and identify any potential vulnerabilities.
DGP Ashok Tewari underscored the importance of maintaining law and order during the session and issued directives to all officers to remain vigilant and proactive. He emphasised that every necessary precaution must be taken to guarantee the safety of MLAs, officials, dignitaries and the general public.
Reaffirming the commitment of Himachal Pradesh Police to uphold the democratic process, he stated that the department is working in close coordination with all concerned security agencies to ensure that the session proceeds without any disruptions.
