Himachal crime: Woman kills husband with help of paramour in Palampur, but forgets key evidence

DHARAMSHALA: A shocking case of *murder has emerged from Palampur in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh where a woman allegedly *killed her husband with the help of her lover.


The incident occurred at Sai Da Lahad village under Bhranta panchayat. The victim, identified as 43-year-old Ved Prakash, was a migrant labourer from Badaun in Uttar Pradesh and was living in a rented house with his family for several years.

Call records, CCTV footage expose conspiracy

According to the police, Ved Prakash returned home intoxicated, leading to an argument with his wife.
In a gruesome turn of events, she allegedly strangled him to death and later inflicted injuries on his face and neck with a sharp object.

Initial suspicion arose due to inconsistencies in the wife’s statements, prompting a deeper investigation.


During the probe, Bihar native Trilok Kumar, the woman’s alleged lover, came under scrutiny. Analysis of call records and CCTV footage provided crucial evidence, including recordings of conversations between the two accused, which revealed their involvement in plotting the *murder.

Accused remanded to police custody

Both suspects, Raj Mala and Trilok Kumar, were taken into custody and produced in court where they were remanded to five days of police custody.


The investigation was initiated based on a complaint filed by the victim’s cousin, Devinder. The police have now sent the body for post-mortem and handed it over to the family.


A senior police official from Palampur said further investigations were underway to uncover more details surrounding the crime.
