Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited AIIMS-Bilaspur to enquire about the well-being of the passengers injured in a bus accident that occurred near Namhol.
The private bus, carrying devotees from a religious event in Nurmahal in Punjab, was en route to Darlaghat when it plunged into a gorge, leaving dozens injured.
During his visit, the Chief Minister personally met the injured passengers, extended his wishes for their speedy recovery and assured them of all possible support from the state government. He directed the AIIMS administration to provide the best possible medical care to the injured without any delay.
“As a government, we are committed to ensuring that those affected receive timely treatment and support,” CM Sukhu stated. He also appreciated the quick response by the district administration, which helped evacuate the victims and ensured immediate medical attention.
Currently, 32 injured passengers are undergoing treatment at AIIMS-Bilaspur. The driver of the bus, who was also injured in the accident, is being treated at the Civil Hospital in Markand.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the ongoing treatment and was briefed on the medical condition of the victims. In line with state norms, interim relief has been disbursed to the injured by the district administration.
CM Sukhu was accompanied by Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, Congress leaders Vivek Kumar, Pawan Thakur, Sanjeev Guleria and Gaurav Sharma. Also present were Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar, Superintendent of Police Sandeep Dhawal and other senior officials.
