Dedicates project in Dharampur, lays foundation stones of projects

Mandi: The International Shivratri Mahotsav was inaugurated on Saturday by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu at the historic Paddal Ground in Mandi, marking the beginning of a cultural extravaganza.
The event commenced with the Chief Minister paying homage at the revered Shri Raj Madhav Rai Temple, followed by his participation in the vibrant Shobha Yatra Jaleb, joined by his wife, Kamlesh Thakur. Adorned in traditional attire, thousands of devotees carried the palanquins of their local deities to the grand venue, where the atmosphere was filled with religious fervour and enthusiasm.
In his address to the gathered multitude, Chief Minister Sukkhu announced a 10% increase in the nazarana offered to the deities and a corresponding hike of 10% in the honorarium of the Bajantris. Emphasizing the profound faith of the people of Himachal Pradesh in their spiritual heritage, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Dev Samaj and ensure the preservation of cultural traditions.
Drawing attention to recent political developments, the Chief Minister criticized the relocation of six disqualified Congress MLAs, whom he accused of betrayal, by the BJP. He questioned the motives behind this move and denounced it as a breach of trust towards both their constituents and the democratic process.
Asserting his commitment to upholding democratic principles, Chief Minister Sukkhu reaffirmed the stability of the state government and its determination to fulfill its mandate. He underscored the government’s unwavering dedication to serving the interests of its people and safeguarding democratic values against any subversive attempts.
In addition to inaugurating an exhibition showcasing the diverse cultural heritage of the region, the Chief Minister unveiled a commemorative souvenir published by the fair committee in honor of the Shivratri Mahotsav.
The event was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sunder Singh Thakur, MLAs Chandrashekhar, Anil Sharma, Bhuvaneshwar Gaur, and Suresh Kumar, along with representatives from various sectors and a multitude of devotees, adding to the grandeur of the festival.
Earlier Chief Minister Sukkhu dedicated 12 development projects worth Rs 84 crore to Mandi district. The inauguration took place during the International Shivratri Fair at the historic Paddal ground of the town.
Among the projects inaugurated were the sub-tehsil Katola building, constructed for Rs 1.72 crore, and the Civil Hospital Rewalsar building, completed for Rs 5.20 crore.
Additionally, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for eight flood control projects by the Jal Shakti Department, totaling Rs 27 crore for the Dharampur area. These projects include channelization work around Balhada Nala, Nald Khad, Kuhatnala, Haryan Nala, Srilanka Nala, Gharda Nala, and Lower Tanehad Nala, as well as Barchchwad Papalog.
Foundation stones were laid for the upgradation works of Madhi-Sandhol road and Dharampur-Sandhol road, each costing Rs 11 crore, and a 230-meter-long double-span Behari Pattan Bridge, to be built for Rs 28 crore.
Lastly, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the upgradation of Gaagal to Simas road under the third phase of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, with an allocated budget of Rs 5.47 crore.
