Green Firecracker Sales Regulated Ahead of Diwali in Dalhousie

Dalhousie — In preparation for the upcoming Diwali on October 19, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Dalhousie has issued strict guidelines for the sale of green firecrackers within the subdivision. The move aims to ensure public safety and environmental compliance during the festive season.

Designated Selling Zones
Vendors are permitted to sell green firecrackers only at the following approved locations:

  • Ram Leela Ground, Bathri
  • NPHC Ground, Samleu
  • Padhar Ground, Banikhet
  • Primary School Bus Stand, Dalhousie
  • Football Ground near MC Line, Sadar Bazar, Dalhousie
  • GPO Dalhousie

License Mandatory
All vendors must obtain a valid license to sell firecrackers. Applications can be submitted at the SDM office in Dalhousie on any working day.

Safety First
Vendors are required to strictly follow safety protocols for the handling and sale of green firecrackers, in line with government regulations.

Penalties for Violations
Selling firecrackers without a license or outside the designated areas will attract legal action, including fines and confiscation of goods.

The directive was issued by Anil Kumar Bhardwaj (HPAS), Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Dalhousie, and has been circulated to the Deputy Commissioner of Chamba, SDPO Dalhousie, Tehsildar Dalhousie, and local police officials for enforcement.
