Mandi : In the aftermath of the recent natural calamity that struck Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh Governor Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla visited the disaster-affected areas to assess ground realities and extend support to the victims.
The Governor toured the severely impacted Tungal Colony near Jail Road, where he met with affected families and listened to their concerns. Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property, he assured residents that comprehensive relief measures would be carried out without delay.
Emphasizing a coordinated effort between the State and Central governments, Shri Shukla stated that the administration was committed to delivering food, shelter, medical aid, and essential services swiftly. He commended the proactive efforts of the district administration, disaster response teams, and local volunteers.
“The people of Himachal Pradesh have always shown remarkable resilience. The government is fully dedicated to restoring normalcy and supporting every family impacted,” the Governor noted during his visit.
Deputy Commissioner Shri Apoorv Devgan briefed the Governor on ongoing relief and rehabilitation operations. At Panchayat Bhawan, arrangements for displaced families were inspected, with the Governor assuring continued assistance.
He also visited Jail Road’s damage site and offered condolences to a bereaved family at Gurudwara Guru Gobind Singh Ji in Paddal that lost three members in the disaster. Senior officials including Shri C.P. Verma and Shri Apoorv Devgan accompanied the Governor throughout the visit.
