In the small village of Ghanari, chaos broke out late Sunday night when the drunk man, upset over a comment made by his wife the previous evening, decided to retaliate in a shocking way. Following a spat in which his wife angrily remarked that he would be “better off dead”, the man, under the influence of alcohol, took her words to heart and attempted to show her his fearlessness — by handling a live cobra.
The man found the snake on his way home, grabbed it and stormed into the neighborhood, yelling, “Look at me, I’m not afraid of death! Tell my wife, I’ve captured death itself!” He proceeded to wander around for over an hour, flaunting the venomous creature, to the shock and horror of onlookers. Despite being bitten by the snake, the man remained oblivious in his drunken state, continuing his wild display.
Eventually, locals managed to convince him to let go of the snake, but by then, the venom had begun to take effect. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in Hoshiarpur where his condition was now stated to be stable.
