A crucial meeting regarding the Draft Development Plan for the Bharmour Special Area (2021–41) was held on Tuesday in the conference hall of the Mini Secretariat under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Chamba, Mukesh Repaswal. The session was organized by the Department of Urban and Town Planning.
The meeting saw an in-depth discussion on the proposed development blueprint for the Bharmour Special Area. It was attended by departmental officials, local panchayat representatives, urban planning experts, and members of the public.
Departmental representatives presented key aspects of the draft, including land use, infrastructure development, transportation systems, environmental conservation, parking, tourism infrastructure, and preservation of cultural heritage.
Deputy Commissioner Repaswal emphasized that the plan is aimed at ensuring planned and sustainable development of the Bharmour region, incorporating amenities tailored to local needs. He directed that the draft plan be shared with all concerned departments so they can review and provide suggestions pertaining to their respective areas, with the goal of creating a practical and high-quality document for implementation.
Feedback and objections from stakeholders were also invited during the meeting to further refine the final version and make it more impactful and public-oriented.
Among those present were Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav, ADM Bharmour Kulbir Singh Rana, Executive Engineer (Jal Shakti) Harminder Chauna, PWD’s Sanjay Sharma, DFO Navnath Mane, TCP’s Dharmendra Kumar, BDO Ramanveer Chauhan, Panchayat Pradhan Anil Kumar, Sanchui Sanjeev Kumar, and several other departmental officials and local residents.
