The MCM DAV Senior Secondary Public School at Baghni in Kangra’s Nurpur subdivision came alive with Diwali celebrations as students and teachers gathered to celebrate the festival of lights with joy and religious fervour.
The event, held on October 26, began with a prayer meeting that set a heartwarming tone for the day. Students chanted slogans emphasising the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness, giving a profound meaning to the festivities.
A vibrant rangoli competition showcased the artistic talents of students, filling the venue with intricate designs and a splash of colours that captured the essence of Diwali. The celebrations continued with soulful songs and expressive poetry recitations that beautifully reflected the festival’s spirit.
In his address, school principal MR Rana delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of celebrating Diwali responsibly. He encouraged students to opt for an eco-friendly Diwali by avoiding crackers and instead using sustainable practices. Rana also advocated for supporting local industries, urging the use of Made-in-India products to enrich the spirit of Diwali with a commitment to community and country.
