Dhauladhar Hills Drape in White After Fresh Snowfall in Himachal

Dharamshala: The majestic Dhauladhar ranges in Himachal Pradesh have transformed into a breathtaking spectacle after heavy snowfall blanketed the region.

The fresh coat of snow, covering the towering peaks, offered a mesmerizing sight to residents and visitors in Dharamshala on the first day of March.

The overnight snowfall, which followed an intense spell of rain across several parts of Himachal Pradesh, has not only enhanced the scenic beauty of the region but also significantly dipped temperatures.

Tourists and photography enthusiasts flocked to popular vantage points, capturing the pristine white landscape that stretched across the horizon.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued warnings of heavy snowfall in higher altitudes, and as predicted, areas around Triund, McLeodganj, and Bhagsunag received a fresh layer of snow.

The cold wave conditions intensified, with the mercury plummeting to sub-zero levels in several parts of the state.

While the snowfall has brought joy to travelers and nature lovers, it has also caused disruptions in daily life. Several roads connecting the upper reaches have been blocked due to accumulated snow, impacting transportation.

The administration has deployed snow-clearing machines to restore connectivity.

This fresh snowfall is expected to boost tourism in Dharamshala, McLeodganj, and Palampur, attracting visitors eager to experience the winter charm.

Meanwhile, locals, particularly those in agriculture and horticulture, remain hopeful that the moisture-laden snow will benefit crops in the coming months.

As the sun shines over the snow-clad peaks, the Dhauladhar hills stand tall in their white mantle, reinforcing why Himachal Pradesh is truly the ‘Land of Snow.’
