Shimla — In a compelling initiative to combat drug abuse, the Director General of Police (DGP) Himachal Pradesh, Mr. Ashok Tiwari (IPS), delivered an impactful lecture on the importance of a drug-free life at the Center of Excellence, Government College Sanjauli.
Addressing a packed auditorium of students, faculty, and police officials, DGP Tiwari warned of the devastating consequences of drug addiction, calling it a “deadly trap” that shatters dreams, health, and family happiness. He urged students to redirect their energy toward positive goals, emphasizing that “drugs make you weak, but determination and discipline can make you invincible.”

Encouraging youth to become “Anti-Chitta Volunteers,” he called on them to spread awareness within their families, peer groups, and communities to protect future generations from the menace of drugs.
The event was presided over by Principal Professor Bharti Bhagra and conducted by Dr. Shikha Chandel. Dr. Girish Kapoor delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Anupama Chaudhary offered the vote of thanks. Among the attendees were DSP Geetanjali Thakur, Inspector Dharam Pal, faculty members, staff, and students.
The lecture was part of a broader campaign to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle and empower youth to lead the change against substance abuse.
