Development stalled under Congress rule, no welfare schemes initiated says BJP president Dr. Rajeev Bindal

Shimla— Himachal Pradesh BJP President Dr. Rajeev Bindal has sharply criticized the Congress-led state government, alleging that even after completing three years in office, it has failed to launch a single public welfare scheme. Addressing the media, Bindal claimed the government appears “helpless” and continues to deflect attention by repeatedly invoking the BJP’s name.

🚑 Health Sector in Crisis

Bindal expressed concern over the deteriorating healthcare infrastructure, stating that the previous BJP government’s HIMCARE scheme, which benefited lakhs of residents, was discontinued without any replacement. He also alleged that the central Ayushman Bharat scheme is not being effectively implemented in Himachal, leaving patients to struggle for basic medical services. The 108 ambulance service, he said, is “completely derailed,” often taking 2–3 hours to respond to emergency calls.

👩‍🎓 Youth, Women, and Poor Left Behind

The BJP leader accused the Congress government of neglecting youth and unemployed citizens, pointing out that promises of one lakh government jobs and five lakh employment opportunities remain unfulfilled. “Three years on, neither jobs nor enabling schemes have materialized,” he said.

Bindal further criticized the government for failing to introduce initiatives for women’s empowerment or poverty alleviation. “The only scheme this government seems to have launched is the closure of institutions,” he remarked.

🏫 School Mergers and Governance Concerns

Referring to recent reports, Bindal condemned the decision to merge schools lacking teachers, buildings, or sufficient student numbers, calling it an abdication of responsibility. He accused the government of hiding behind excuses like an empty treasury and warned that governance is slipping out of control.

🗣️ Political Rhetoric and Accountability

Bindal alleged that Congress leaders have made it a habit to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, using derogatory language instead of addressing public concerns. He urged the Chief Minister to stop shifting blame and take ownership of his responsibilities.

“The people of Himachal Pradesh deserve answers. If even one welfare scheme has been launched in the public interest, let the government show it,” Bindal concluded.
