Dharamshala
: A man from Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur district was among those injured in the devastating blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday (November 10, 2025) evening, officials and family members confirmed.

The explosion, which ripped through a moving car near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station around 6.52 pm, killed nine persons, including two women, and injured 24 others.

The Himachal victim has been identified as Tilak Raj (45), son of Krishan Chand, a resident of Hamirpur. According to the family, he sustained injuries in the explosion and is currently undergoing treatment in a Delhi hospital. Relatives said they were deeply worried as they awaited clear updates on his condition.

However, the Himachal administration said no formal communication had yet been received. Hamirpur DC Amarjeet Singh and SP Bhagat Thakur stated that they were still trying to obtain official details about Tilak Raj from Delhi authorities and his family, adding that efforts were on to establish direct contact with the teams on the ground.

Security tightened across Himachal

In the wake of the Delhi blast, Himachal DGP Ashok Tiwari ordered heightened vigilance along all border points. Police in Una, Sirmaur, Solan, Bilaspur and Kangra have been instructed to intensify checking of vehicles entering the state, especially those with out-of-state registrations. Suspicious individuals and vehicles are to be monitored closely, officers said.

Security has also been ramped up at major Shakti Peeths and prominent temples, with SHOs and chowki in-charges placed on high alert. Since Monday night, vehicles have been allowed entry only after thorough inspection. The DGP has directed that any suspicious activity be reported immediately to senior officials.

CCTV hints at possible terror link

The Delhi Police said the blast occurred in the rear portion of a white i20 car, whose explosion was powerful enough to torch six nearby cars, two e-rickshaws and an auto. Bodies were found severely burnt, with some body parts scattered across a distance.

Preliminary investigation suggests the suspected presence of terror operative Mohammad Umar in the vehicle, as indicated by CCTV footage showing the car leaving a parking area shortly before the explosion. The vehicle was registered in Gurugram under the name of Salman, who has reportedly been detained. Salman told investigators he had sold the car to a man named Tariq from Pulwama, who is now being traced.

CM Sukhu expresses grief

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed profound sorrow over the loss of lives in the Delhi blast and prayed for peace to the departed souls. He also wished a speedy recovery to all those injured, including Hamirpur’s Tilak Raj.

Investigations are underway, while security agencies across North India remain on high alert as more details emerge in this high-profile incident.
