CSIR- Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (CSIR-IHBT) participated in the inaugural program of CSIR Smart Village Mission activities at Kusunpur Village, Kendrapara, Odisha. This initiative aligned with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of “Viksit Bharat”. The program was inaugurated by Sh. Raghuram R. Iyer, Collector and District Magistrate.
Various technologies and products developed by CSIR IHBT such as fortified foods for combating malnutrition, floral artefacts, handicrafts and integrated apiculture products like honey, bee pollen and other value added products are showcased during the event. The inaugural program involved active participation of the village community, Kendrapara District administration, and other CSIR lab partners.
During the event, the POSHAN Maitree kits, a curated pack of protein and iron fortified food products developed by CSIR IHBT were distributed to the women of the Kusunpur village by the dignitaries.
Further, CSIR IHBT team conducted an awareness cum interaction program for the villagers. On the occasion, Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Director General, CSIR emphasized to integrate CSIR technologies at village level to achieve the goals of Viksit Bharat, 2047.
