Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has arrived in the national capital for a four-day visit, where he will lead the state’s delegation at the high-stakes Northern Zonal Council (NZC) meeting in Surajkund, Haryana, on November 17.
The Chief Minister, who departed on Saturday afternoon, is accompanied by senior officials including Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta and the CM’s Secretary Rakesh Kanwar.
CM Sukhu is set to aggressively raise several long-pending issues before the council, which will be chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Boundary Disputes
Resolving border issues with neighbouring states, notably the demarcation with Haryana in the Parwanoo region and disputes with J&K and Ladakh.
BBMB Membership
Pressing for the state’s permanent membership and clarifying liability in the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB).
Joint Anti-Drug Strategy
Urging for a consolidated, aggressive joint action plan with neighbouring states to curb the rampant drug trafficking, an issue Himachal has repeatedly flagged.
The Chief Minister is expected to return to Shimla on November 18 after concluding the meetings.
