In a landmark initiative towards building a drug-free society, the CISF Unit BSLP Sundernagar organised a massive anti-drug awareness rally in Pandoh on Monday morning at 10 am. The rally, held under the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Abhiyan”, marked the first time such a large-scale mobilisation was witnessed in the region.

Around 50 CISF personnel, along with nearly 200 students from Noble College and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Pandoh, participated enthusiastically, turning the event into a powerful youth-driven campaign against substance abuse.

The rally began from Siyogi and concluded at the Pandoh bus stand, with the entire stretch echoing with slogans such as “Nasha Chhodo, Jeevan Jodo” and “Yuva Jago, Nasha Tyago.” Students carried banners and placards highlighting the harmful effects of drug addiction, urging citizens to join the fight against this growing social menace.

Local residents welcomed the rally warmly and praised the CISF for taking an active role beyond security duties to promote social well-being.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commandant Vishal Bansal said that drug addiction not only destroys an individual but also weakens families and society as a whole. He called upon the youth to stay fit, engage in sports, and adopt a positive lifestyle. He added that safeguarding society from internal threats like addiction is also part of CISF’s responsibility.

The principals of Noble College and JNV Pandoh also spoke on the occasion, stressing the urgent need for awareness among young people. A street play performed by trainee students of Noble College left a deep impact on the audience, delivering a strong message against drug abuse.

Several dignitaries including Assistant Commandant Deepak Joshi, Pandoh Dam In-charge Ashok Takshak, and other notable personalities were present during the programme.

The rally concluded with a collective pledge that with the combined efforts of security forces, educational institutions and the public, the dream of a drug-free Pandoh can certainly become a reality. Residents demanded that such awareness drives should continue regularly to keep the youth on the right path.
