Indora (Himachal): Cricket has always united people, but at Aarni University, Indora, it became a weapon against one of society’s biggest challenges — drug abuse.
The celebrity cricket match held on February 1, 2026, brought together singers and educators on one field with a shared purpose: to inspire Himachal’s youth to choose discipline, purpose and education over drugs.
The Shining Star Team of celebrity singers attracted massive attention, but it was Educator 11 that stole the show with determination and teamwork. Their victory at 86 runs was celebrated not as a sporting win, but as a moral triumph.
Former MLA of Indora, Manohar Dhiman, graced the occasion, reinforcing the importance of grassroots leadership in social reform. Local activist Navdeep Katoch, a key office bearer of Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha, was also present, adding strength to the cause.
The award ceremony, honoured by Chancellor Dr Vivek Singh, reflected Aarni University’s commitment to social responsibility. Winners received a cash prize of ₹11,000, while the runner-up team was awarded ₹5,100. Sanjeev Sharma of Sunrise School, Basantpur, was declared Man of the Series for his outstanding performance.
This match proved that when education, sports and social purpose come together, real change begins.
