Two youths from Malkota village, Sanchui Panchayat, Bharmaur subdivision have gone missing after a picnic trip near Bharmaani Mata Temple, Kukdu Kanda ridge.
According to reports, around 3 PM today, a phone call was received at Bharmaur Police Station stating that the boys were trapped in a hut on a ridge. Soon after, their phones were switched off.
SDM Bharmaur Vikas Sharma confirmed that upon receiving the information, mountaineering and police rescue teams were dispatched, accompanied by local villagers. He added that the rescue site is covered with over three feet of snow, making operations extremely challenging.
As of now, no trace of the boys has been found. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing.
