Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania Lays Foundation for ₹86 Lakh Jajdi–Bhatuhi Road in Chamba

A new 3.7 km-long road connecting Jajdi to Bhatuhi will be constructed at a cost of ₹86 lakh, announced Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania while laying the foundation stone in Gram Panchayat Malunda, Bhatiyat constituency.

Pathania emphasized that providing road connectivity to remote villages is a top priority, ensuring that all development projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe. He congratulated the villagers, stating that roads are the backbone of overall development, and the government aims to connect every village with better road facilities.

The new road will benefit residents of Chalela Dhanodi, Kut, Kutla Jukani, Bhatuhi, Badei, Bhadrada, and nearby areas, making daily travel easier. Future expansion plans include extending the road to Sela and Maithla villages.

Pathania highlighted that under the Public Works Department, projects worth ₹146 crore are underway in Bhatiyat, including seven roads costing ₹30 crore to connect villages in Malunda, Turkda, Kudnu, Vanet, and Gahar panchayats. Nearly 80 km of roads have already been completed, and 12 new link roads covering 70 km have been approved under PMGSY Phase-4, with a budget of ₹115.73 crore.

Additionally, under the Jal Shakti Department, 46 projects worth ₹365 crore are in progress in Bhatiyat, with ₹54 crore being spent in Chuwari, Malunda, Jatrun, Kudnu, Gahar, Banet, Awan, and Parchod.

Pathania announced that Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will soon visit Chamba district to inaugurate development projects worth ₹400 crore and announce new projects worth ₹250 crore. He reiterated that providing basic facilities to remote areas remains a top priority of the state government.

The event was attended by senior officials and dignitaries, including Krishna Chandra (State Forest Corporation), Ajay Kumar (Wool Federation), Surender Chadak (ST Cell), SDM Manish Soni, SE Mahendra Dhiman, DFO Rajnish Mahajan, BDO Anil Gurada, Tehsildar Jai Singh, EE Narendra Chaudhary, Rakesh Thakur, and Pankaj Rathore.
