National Youth Day celebrated at Dalhousie Youth Hostel

On the auspicious occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, National Youth Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Youth Hostel in Dalhousie under the aegis of Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat). The program aimed to inspire young people with Swami Vivekananda’s powerful thoughts, his historic speeches, and the importance of living a drug-free life.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dalhousie, Mr. Anil Bhardwaj, attended as the chief guest. Addressing the youth, he highlighted the essence of Swami Vivekananda’s speeches and urged them to stay away from drugs and substances like chitta. He emphasized that Vivekananda’s message of self-confidence, discipline, and service to the nation empowers young people to build a stronger future.

On this occasion, Dr. Sumit, Medical Officer of Dalhousie block, shared vital information about tuberculosis (TB) and HIV, stressing the need for timely testing, treatment, and awareness. District Youth Officer Mr. Vivek Kumar also spoke about Swami Vivekananda’s life and ideals, underlining the role of youth in nation-building.

The event was graced by the presence of Youth Hostel Manager Mr. Devendra Sharma. Cultural performances added vibrancy to the celebration: students from Government College Chamba presented an inspiring group song, while students from Government College Chuwari captivated the audience with a lively dance performance.

The program concluded with a pledge by the youth to embrace Swami Vivekananda’s ideals and contribute to building a drug-free, healthy, and empowered India.
