Education Dialogue Program Held at GHS Sakrera, Dalhousie

Under the Education Dialogue Program initiated by Subhash Mahajan, a meeting of the School Management Committee (SMC) was organized at Government High School Sakrera, Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh, chaired by Ravindra Kumar.

The meeting focused on the guidelines issued by the education department, with detailed discussions held with parents on student welfare and academic development. Emphasis was placed on creating a healthy and independent family environment to support children’s growth, covering aspects such as mental health, nutrition, physical well-being, skill-based learning methods, exam reforms, evaluation techniques, and student performance.

Key points included:

  • Strengthening the library, laboratory, playground facilities, and community participation.
  • Implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP) and provision of budget for school welfare programs.
  • Promotion of eco-friendly practices like tree plantation drives and conservation initiatives.
  • Encouragement of sports, arts, and cultural activities for holistic student development.

The committee also discussed the shortage of one classroom in the school and passed a proposal to correspond with the Executive Director of Chamera Project for resolution.

During the session, ASHA worker Mrs. Pooja addressed parents on the importance of cervical cancer prevention and vaccination. The Education Dialogue pledge was administered by teacher Virender Thakur.

Headmaster Lekhraj guided parents on structured approaches to improve student learning, highlighting issues like mobile phone misuse and indiscipline among students, and shared diagnostic solutions.

Several parents including Guddu, Raveena Devi, Reena Devi, Anu Kumari, Shashi Devi, Seema Devi, Nisha Devi, Usha Devi, Anita, Bittu Kumar, Kamal Kishore, Taro Devi, Babli Devi, Kanchan Devi, Nikhil, Radha Devi, Sheela, Vandana, Sapna, Swarn Devi, Vicky, Rekha Devi, along with teachers Raman Sharma, Girdhari Lal, Keval Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Amit Kumar, Santosh Kumar, and Seema also shared their views.

The meeting concluded with tea and refreshments.
