Chamba woman *kills husband after heated argument, blow with stick on head proves fatal

Chamba: A shocking incident of domestic violence has come to light in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh where a woman allegedly *killed her husband by hitting him on the head with a stick following a heated argument.

The police have arrested the accused wife and registered a murder case against her. The incident occurred in Mugla Mohalla, near the Chamba district headquarters.

According to reports, the couple had a dispute on Wednesday (April 2, 2025) night, during which the wife attacked her husband with a stick on the head, leading to fatal injuries. The victim, identified as Kewal (48), succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning.

Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav said that preliminary investigations revealed a history of frequent quarrels between the couple. On the night of the incident, a violent altercation broke out, after which the wife and their son left for work the next morning.

Later, their son, Amar Lal, asked neighbours for water, raising suspicions. When neighbours checked on Kewal, they found him unconscious with multiple injury marks on his body.

Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene and, based on witness statements, arrested the wife. A post-mortem examination will be conducted at the Chamba Medical College on Friday.

The Chamba SP said further investigations were underway to determine the exact sequence of events.
