Acting on complaints of alleged irregularities, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a raid on the regional office of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in Himachal Pradesh industrial hub Baddi in Solan district.
The operation, which lasted several hours, involved a team from Shimla thoroughly examining EPFO records and seizing critical documents for further investigation.
During the raid, CBI officials instructed employees to switch off their phones and prohibited any external entry into the premises. The exact nature of the documents seized remains undisclosed and no details have been officially shared about the findings so far.
When approached, the officials concerned at the scene declined to comment on the ongoing investigation. The EPFO office, located near the old vegetable market in the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) building, handles records related to the provident funds of employees working in various companies in the region.
The CBI team, arriving in five vehicles from Shimla on Tuesday morning, immediately sealed the office gates to prevent any interference. The operation continued well into the evening, leaving employees and observers speculating about the extent of the alleged irregularities under scrutiny. Further details are awaited as the investigation is underway.
