Dharamshala: Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bhairwa, on Monday, unveiled the poster for the upcoming brass band competition at the Dharamshala district headquarters as part of the Dharamshala Spring Carnival scheduled from February 25 to 29.
“This carnival marks the initial stride towards realizing Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s vision of boosting tourism. The brass band competition provides a platform for local bands, commonly seen at weddings and functions, to be part of this larger event,” stated Bhairwa.
Vijay Kumar, a member of the organizing committee, emphasized that promoting local culture will uplift the morale of the region’s artists. “They play a pivotal role in attracting tourism in the future,” he added.
Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, Vinay Dhiman, highlighted the collective effort involved in making this event a success. “Our hotel association members have generously contributed to ensure the event’s success. We express our gratitude to the people of this region who are actively participating,” he said.
Sanjeev Gandhi, a prominent hotelier and member of the hotelier association, emphasized that the carnival is a significant step toward achieving sustainable tourism goals in the future. “This year marks the commencement, and despite upcoming elections, the event is set to take place in February,” he added.
