KULLU:
Panic gripped the courts in Kullu and Nahan in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday (July 9, 2025) morning after bomb threats were received via email, prompting immediate evacuations and large-scale security operations.
The Himachal Pradesh Police swiftly launched combing operations at both sites to ensure public safety, deploying bomb disposal squads and dog squads.
According to officials, the District and Sessions Court complex in Kullu was evacuated after an email threatened to blow up the premises. All court staff and lawyers were promptly escorted out. Police teams, along with bomb detection units and sniffer dogs, arrived at the scene and began a thorough search of the area.
In a similar incident, the Nahan court complex in Sirmaur district also received a bomb threat via email early Wednesday. The court was immediately evacuated following the alert. A senior police officer reached the spot with a police team and oversaw the security measures.
This is not the first time such a threat has been issued in the state. In May, similar emails threatening a bomb attack were sent to the offices of the Deputy Commissioner in Kullu and Mandi and also for the Secretariat in Shimla.
