Dharamshala — As the Himachal Pradesh Congress government prepares to celebrate three years in office on December 11, sharp criticism has emerged from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Party state media co-incharge Advocate Vishva Chakshu accused the Sukhu-led government of celebrating “failure” instead of achievements, questioning what exactly the Congress has to showcase after three years in power.

Chakshu alleged that unemployment is at its peak, employees’ demands remain unmet, disaster relief has been mishandled, funds meant for panchayats have been misused, and farmers and horticulturists continue to suffer. “In such circumstances, celebrating three years is like rubbing salt on the wounds of the people,” he said.

Taking a jibe at the Congress, Chakshu remarked that the party dreams of riding into the 2027 elections in a “52-seater Volvo,” but given its performance, “the people won’t even consider fitting them into an Alto.” He described the government as being “caught between the dream of a Volvo and the reality of an Alto.”

Referring to the BJP’s massive rally held on December 4 at Dharamshala’s Tapovan Zorawar Stadium, Chakshu said the turnout sent a clear message to the Sukhu government: the public is ready for change. “The crowd proved that Himachal Pradesh is fed up with Congress’s failures, arrogance, and misgovernance. The bugle for 2027 has already been sounded, and Congress’s countdown has begun,” he declared.

Chakshu concluded by saying, “For three years, this government has taken away people’s hopes instead of fulfilling promises. These are not years to celebrate, but years for accountability.”
