Palampur – In a spirited celebration of patriotism ahead of Independence Day, both the BJP Rural and Urban Mandals of Palampur constituency organised Tiranga Yatras, drawing large crowds and vibrant community involvement.
For the first time, the BJP Palampur Rural Mandal held a Tiranga Yatra in the Kandbadi area, beginning at the Senior Secondary School and culminating at the revered Kalholi Mata Temple. The rally was led by Mandal President Suresh Pathania, with BJP State General Secretary Trilok Kapoor attending as the chief guest. Hundreds of BJP workers and members of Hindu organizations joined the procession, which was marked by patriotic fervor and chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
A particularly moving moment came with the participation of elderly women aged between 80 and 86 years, whose presence added emotional depth to the event.
Continuing the celebrations, the BJP Urban Mandal Palampur convened a meeting for the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign at the District BJP Office, chaired by Urban Mandal President Gopesh Sharma. Addressing the gathering, Trilok Kapoor emphasised the party’s tradition of celebrating 15th August with nationwide enthusiasm. He announced that national flags were distributed to booth presidents, who will ensure that every household hoists the tricolor on Independence Day.
The Urban Mandal also organised its longest-ever Tiranga Yatra, covering a 6-kilometer route from the District Office through the market to Subhash Chowk and back. The rally, coordinated by Satish Sharma, saw participation from approximately 650 people, showcasing the community’s deep patriotic spirit.
