The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday commenced its two-day organizational meetings in Mandi, bringing together top state leadership, senior office bearers, and representatives from key party wings, even as the party marked its Foundation Day across Himachal Pradesh with booth-level programmes.

The meetings are focused on strengthening the organization at the grassroots level, particularly down to booths, while accelerating the training campaign, pushing the SIR drive at the assembly segment level, and preparing for upcoming Panchayati Raj and urban local body elections. Deliberations are also being held on the prevailing political scenario and the party’s future outreach strategy.

The state office bearers’ meeting is being held on April 6 with participation from conveners of various cells, along with media, social media and IT department representatives. The state executive meeting on April 7 is expected to finalise key resolutions and a detailed roadmap for upcoming political and organizational programmes, including expansion of cells at the mandal level.

As part of the Foundation Day celebrations, senior leaders have been deployed across booth-level events in the district. BJP National Vice President Saudan Singh attended a programme at Booth No. 81 in Palace Colony-II, Ward No. 09, San Mohalla in Mandi. Other senior leaders marked their presence at designated locations, including Shrikant Sharma at the Sundernagar district office, Sanjay Tandon at Booth No. 48 in Nachan (Chambi), Dr. Rajeev Bindal at Booth No. 65 in Balh, Jai Ram Thakur at Booth No. 62 in Drang, and Organization General Secretary Siddharthan at Booth No. 74 in Drang. Senior functionaries including Bihari Sharma also participated in various programmes.

Addressing party workers, Saudan Singh said the BJP is not merely a political party but an ideological movement committed to nation-building. He noted that since its inception on April 6, 1980, the party has grown into the world’s largest political organization through the dedication of its cadre.

Highlighting the principle of Antyodaya, he said the party is committed to ensuring development reaches the last person. Referring to initiatives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said programmes such as Digital India, Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Jal Jeevan Mission and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have brought significant improvements in people’s lives.

He described party workers as the backbone of the organization, recalling the BJP’s journey from just two seats in 1984 to its present position, attributing it to sustained grassroots efforts and public trust. He called upon workers to further strengthen the party by taking its message to every village and booth.

Foundation Day events were held across the district with participation from party leaders, office bearers and a large number of local residents, coinciding with the ongoing organizational meetings that are expected to shape BJP’s strategy in the state in the run-up to upcoming elections.
