Dharamshala: In an endeavour to empower voters and foster civic participation, the Indian Postal Department’s Kareri division organised an initiative in Kareri panchayat on April 16, 2024. Through a blend of special awareness campaigns and street plays, the objective was to enlighten residents about the importance of exercising their voting rights wisely.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various dignitaries and community leaders, including the gram panchayat pradhan, ward members, and postal officials. Among the attendees were Ravindra Sharma, the Post Office superintendent, and Kamal Sharma, the assistant superintendent, along with postal clerks and assistants.
The street plays served as a medium to convey crucial messages about the electoral process and the role of citizens in shaping the future of governance. Emphasizing the theme of responsible voting, the performances urged residents to make informed choices for a government that prioritizes their welfare and development.
During the event, officials highlighted the foundational principles of democracy and underscored the duty of every eligible voter to actively participate in the electoral process. They urged individuals from all segments of society to step forward and contribute to the nation-building process by casting their votes in the upcoming elections.
