The world-renowned holy Manimahesh Dal Lake witnessed a massive influx of devotees on Saturday, as nearly 12,000 Shiva devotees took a sacred dip on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami (Chhota Nahon).

Providing details, SDM Bharmour Abhishek Mittal informed that as soon as the weather cleared on Saturday morning, streams of devotees thronged the Dal Lake to take the ritual dip in the holy waters. Alongside, the traditional Jatar Fair also commenced at the historic Chaurasi Temples in Bharmour. The fair began with the age-old flag-hoisting ritual on the giant deodar tree at the ancient Shiva temple.

The occasion also saw heavy footfall at the revered Bhramani Mata Temple, where devotees gathered in large numbers to offer prayers. Adding to the connectivity, helicopter taxi services were also operational due to clear weather, flying Shiva devotees to Dal Lake.

SDM Mittal appealed to pilgrims to remain cautious while traveling in case of bad weather, to avoid night journeys, and to maintain cleanliness at all holy sites to preserve their sanctity. He further urged travelers to exercise caution while driving on the Chamba–Bharmour National Highway (NH-154A), especially during rainy conditions, so that everyone’s journey remains safe and blessed.
