Chamba — The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony of PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Raipur, was held with great enthusiasm and cultural vibrancy under the theme “Abhyuday – A Confluence of Knowledge, Effort, and Progress.” Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania attended as the chief guest and felicitated outstanding students for their academic and extracurricular achievements.
🗣️ Tributes to Nehru and Commitment to Education
In his keynote address, Mr. Pathania paid heartfelt tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, highlighting his pivotal role in India’s independence and nation-building. He noted that Nehru’s birthday is celebrated as Children’s Day in recognition of his deep affection for children, and extended warm wishes to students on the occasion.
Mr. Pathania emphasized the state government’s commitment to quality education, announcing that senior secondary schools in Himachal Pradesh will be affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). He assured that Raipur School will be included in the second phase of this historic transition and also revealed plans to establish a Skill University in the Bhatiyat constituency.
🛣️ Infrastructure and Development Initiatives
Addressing regional development, Mr. Pathania shared that road connectivity for 120 villages deprived of transport access is being prioritized. Proposals under the Forest Rights Act (FRA) have been prepared by the Public Works Department, and construction of these link roads will commence soon.
🏆 Awards and Cultural Showcase
The ceremony began with a traditional lamp-lighting ritual, followed by a warm welcome from the school management and local community. Mr. Pathania honored students excelling in academics and co-curricular activities, and announced ₹31,000 and ₹11,000 respectively to support cultural programs by senior and junior students.
Students presented captivating performances rooted in Hindi, Punjabi, and Himachali folk traditions, drawing applause from the audience. The event was attended by dignitaries including:
